The Greater Greenwood Lake Revitalization Committee inc., founded in January 2002, is comprised of concerned residents, business owners and trustees. Since its inception the GGLRC has been working towards developing a fiscally sustainable business district that is both physically attractive while meeting the needs of the community and business owners. We obtained designation from Orange County Planning Board as a pilot for Village revitalization and have had the services of an Orange County representative available for guidance. In 2005 we obtained grant money which was utilized to purchase a Main Street Revitalization and redevelopment strategy developed by Dadras Architects, a successful firm recommended to us through the Orange County planning Board. Our goals for 2006 are to raise $36,000 by September 30th to implement the next steps in our Revitalization and Redevelopment strategy and to increase community participation in fundraising, committee membership and the events we promote.

The Village of Greenwood Lake Revitalization Committee meets the first Tuesday of the month, at 7:00 pm at the Greenwood Lake Senior Center.

The Village of Greenwood Lake Revitalization Committee has begun an award program recognizing individuals homes for outstanding garden and landscape presentation. Every two weeks 5 homes are chosen to display a Project Pride sign on their lawn. Pictures of the winning properties will also be displayed here on the Revitalization Committee home page.
