NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION GREENWOOD LAKE JOINT FIRE DISTRICT

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE  that the Annual Election of the Greenwood Lake Joint Fire District will take place on December 14, 2010, between the hours of 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm at the Fire House located at 51 Waterstone Road, Greenwood Lake, New York for the following purpose:

• To elect one (1) Fire District Commissioner for a five (5) year term commencing January 1, 2011 and ending December 31, 2015.

• To elect one (1) Fire District Commissioner for a three (3) year term commencing January 1, 2011 and ending December 31, 2013.

 All residents of the Greenwood Lake Joint Fire District, who are duly registered to vote with the Orange County Board of Elections on or before November 22, 2010 shall be entitled to vote at this election. Any person desiring to have his or her name appear on the ballot for the above offices must have filed a petition signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified electors of the Fire District, with the Secretary of the Fire District, not later than November 24, 2010.

Garbage Collection
Tuesdays: North side of Route 17A and west side of the lake's north arm
Wednesday: South side of Rte 17A and east side of the lake's north arm
Recycling Collection
Recycling is the law! All residents MUST Recycle: If recycling is mixed with your regular trash, we will not be able to take your garbage until you separate it. Co-mingled and paper alternate every Friday. White goods, metal products, washers and dryers, etc. by appointment only. Call 845-987-1430. Please note that 24 hours notice must be provided to contractor.
Bulk Pick-Up
Second and last Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. Limit two household items. Appointment required.
Yard Waste
Every Monday for Tuesday garbage residents and every Thursday for Wednesday garbage residents.
Maximum weight of 35 gallon cans or yard waste bags picked up will be 65 lbs. If your cans are left it is due to the following reasons: exceeded 65 lbs., exceed number if cans permitted, mixed with recyclable items, mixed with construction debris. Please call 845-987-1430.
