The Town of Warwick Department of Public Works was formed in 1986, when the responsibilities of the Town Highway Department and Town Park Department were combined. The DPW is responsible for maintenance and improvements to the Town highway system and parks, and provides assistance to the Village of Greenwood Lake.

The person in charge of repairing the local highways, cutting the weeds on the right-of-way, and removing snow is the Town Superintendent of Highways. The salary and expenses of the superintendent and the deputy (if any), and certain other administrative expenses are paid from the general fund. Most other highway expenses are paid from the highway fund.
