| The Village of Greenwood Lake has contracted with a company called CLEAN-FLO to work on improving the quality of the lake and combatting eutrification through aeration. This process increases the dissolved oxygen content of the water and can increase fish and other aquatic animal habitat, prevents fishkills, and controls lake weeds and lake algae. Lake aeration will improve the quality of the water supply and decrease water treatment costs. In many cases, algal blooms can be reduced, and lake muck dramatically decreased. Many different types of lake aeration systems are available to help do this by injecting air, or mechanically mixing or agitating the water. After years of research and thousands of lake restoration projects, CLEAN-FLO has produced the most cost effective and efficient lake aeration system that also happens to be natural and environmentally friendly. |
